Weapons is a category of module used by your Locomotive, divided into Small and Large Armaments. They are used to deal damage to enemies, and are presently the only way to interact with enemies in combat.
Locomotives have two weapons slots. The default control to fire the primary weapon is the left mouse button, and to fire the secondary weapon it is the right mouse button. When firing weapons, your locomotive's heat will rise, as seen in the bottom bar. If you attempt to fire while your engine is overheated, you will damage your Hull.
The weapon slots can either be designated "Small" or "Large". Small weapons fit both slots, large weapons must be mounted in a large weapon slot.
Although you can buy munitions, they are unrelated to using your locomotive's weapons.
Weaponry are generally categorized into several types based on how they are used (Name provided are not game relevant, but are used for the purpose of identification)
- Sniper Cannon: Long ranged, medium damage & heat buildup
- Autocannon: Medium ranged, low damage & heat buildup
- Shrapnel Cannon: Short ranged, high damage & heat buildup + multiple projectile
- Landmine: Long ranged, High damage & heat buildup + remains in place until it hits something or the user leaves its range
- Rocket: Long ranged, High damage & heat buildup + some can home on target. The rocket can be detonated early by clicking the fire button.
